The Food I Loved (And The Trouble It Caused)

I was healthy. Well mostly

Except for one tiny issue: I LOVED human food…. A lot!

My stomach? Not such a fan.

Every now and then, my love for table food got me into trouble. But the worst time was right before we moved to San Jose.

I had an acute pancreatitis episode. Bad enough that I had to stay at the hospital for two whole days.

You cried. You didn’t eat. You walked around the house like something important was missing — because something was.

Me.

Home felt empty without me.

I could feel how much you missed me, even from there. And when I came back, it took me a week to be myself again. But I did.

Because that’s who I was.

Through it all, there was Ratul — my vet, your family friend, and our absolute savior. He understood me. He understood you. He knew exactly how much I meant to this family, and he treated me with so much affection and care all my life.

After the move to San Jose, I had a few more episodes. But then came the rules….No table food!
Vegan kibbles! Carrots! Low-fat treats! Not ideal — but acceptable.

The only exception? My birthday.
