Everywhere With You

You took me everywhere you could.

Restaurants with outdoor seating.
Trails where I could walk proudly.
Outdoor malls where everyone noticed me.

Friends’ homes. Family gatherings. New places that quickly felt familiar because I was welcome.

I especially loved your cousins’ place.

They greeted me with warmth every time. I ran around like I owned it. I did zoomies. I bossed everyone gently — but firmly. That place felt joyful and free, and I soaked it all in.

Sometimes, I went with you to your childhood bestie’s home.
Sometimes to your business partner’s place.

Different houses. Different smells.

Same result.

I explored. I settled in. I demanded attention.

Because wherever you felt at ease, I did too.

I didn’t need my own house to feel at home.

I just needed to be included.

And you always made sure I was.
